WASHLET cumulative shipments surpass 60 million units
Since its launch in 1980, WASHLET has become an almost essential fixture in Japanese homes.
Overseas sales have steadily increased, and in August 2022, cumulative shipments of WASHLET surpassed 60 million units worldwide.

To this end, we have continually advanced TOTO’s universal design by closely observing people’s lifestyles and listening to their difficulties.
Starting in the 1960s with initiatives to support people with disabilities, today we not only develop and sell products, but also issue reports investigating the difficulties of using restrooms for wheelchair users, people with young children, and sexual minorities, as well as propose restroom spaces considerate of diverse situations. These have been widely adopted in many facilities.
